About Mulberry River Outdoor Adventures Campground
Our Story
Some places become part of you long before you ever think about calling them yours.
For us, that place has always been the Mulberry River.
Long before there were campsites to reserve, guests to welcome or a business called Mulberry River Outdoor Adventures, there were days spent along this river—swimming, riding trails, exploring the woods and finding the places you only discover when you give yourself enough time to wander.
We loved this little piece of Arkansas. Eventually, we began dreaming about what it might look like to share it.
A Dream Becomes a Place
Mulberry River Outdoor Adventures began with a piece of property, a lot of hope and a shared belief that there was something special here worth sharing.
So we started building.
There wasn’t a roadmap for what we were creating. There wasn’t a moment when everything was finished and we opened the gates to some perfectly completed campground. We dreamed it up as we went—making plans, changing plans, clearing trails, creating campsites, answering phones, welcoming our first guests and learning what this place wanted to become.
Little by little, season after season, the dream became a real place.
And then something happened that we hadn’t necessarily planned for.
People became part of it.
Strangers pulled into the campground and eventually became people we knew by name. Families returned year after year. Kids who once needed help reaching the rope swing came back taller. Guests brought friends, and those friends brought friends of their own.
Their memories became woven into ours.
And somewhere along the way, Mulberry River Outdoor Adventures became about much more than sharing a beautiful piece of the Mulberry River.
It became about belonging.
There Is More Than One Way to Be Outdoorsy
Over the years, we’ve watched people arrive here with very different ideas of what an outdoor adventure should look like.
For some, it’s climbing into a side-by-side and spending the day exploring miles of forest roads and trails.
For others, it’s floating the river, jumping from the rope swing or finding a swimming hole and staying there until the sun begins to disappear behind the trees.
But we’ve also learned that adventure doesn’t always have to be big.
Sometimes it’s a child turning over rocks at the river’s edge.
It’s finding a mushroom you’ve never noticed before.
It’s following a butterfly down a trail just to see where it goes.
It’s sitting beside the river with your morning coffee. Cooking dinner outside. Watching a campfire burn down. Looking up and realizing you can actually see the stars.
Sometimes being outdoorsy means doing absolutely nothing at all.
And that’s when we began thinking differently about the word itself.
Somewhere along the way, outdoorsy became something people felt they either were or weren’t.
We don’t believe that.
You don’t need expensive gear. You don’t need to know how to back a camper perfectly on the first try. You don’t have to own a side-by-side, know the name of every tree or be the person who wants to hike ten miles before breakfast.
You don’t have to prove anything.
We think there’s a little bit of outdoorsy in everyone.
Sometimes you just need the right place to find it.

Those three words eventually became the simplest way we knew to describe what we had been watching happen here for years.

Yours.
Maybe yours is muddy tires and a trail you’ve never taken before.
Maybe it’s bare feet in the Mulberry River.
Maybe it’s finding a sunspot while your grandfather fishes, chasing down a swimming hole with your favorite Aunt, searching for mushrooms after a Summer Rain, hunting for the prettiest river rock, feeling the peace of the Autumn Sky, reading a book under a shade tree or watching your kids disappear into the kind of play that doesn’t require a screen.
Maybe it’s your first night sleeping outside.
Maybe it’s simply being still long enough to notice what’s been around you all along.
We don’t think the outdoors asks you to be anything before it lets you belong there.
Neither do we.
That’s the kind of place we want Mulberry River Outdoor Adventures to be.
A place where experienced campers and first-timers can share the same stretch of river. Where adventure can be loud or quiet. Where you can spend the entire day exploring—or never leave your chair beside the water.
A place where nobody has to wonder whether they’re outdoorsy enough to be here.
Because you are.
You may just not have found your version of it yet.
We’ve spent years sharing our little piece of the Mulberry River with people we love, people we’ve just met and people who somehow became family somewhere between their first visit and their fifth.
And we’re still building.
Still dreaming.
Still finding little things in these woods that make us stop and look twice.

Campground Rules
- Camping is only allowed in designated campsites
- Campsite occupancy is limited to six people per RV site and 4 per tent site
- Our campgrounds are limited so make sure you plan ahead.
- We LOVE well behaved pets!

Where is the nearest grocery store?
The nearest grocery stores are located in Alma. There is also Wal-Mart Super Center as well.
We understand that sometimes things come up and are happy to give you a raincheck should you need to cancel your stay.
Yes.
Can we have campfires at our camp sites?
Yes.
Can I reserve a spot right on the river?
We do have our utilities in as close to the river as legally possible. Our campground is smaller and even the furthest campsite from the river is still only a 2 minute walk.
