“Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken.”
– Frank Herbert

In life it’s easy to let priorities get out of order and and you can begin to feel stifled.
Hours can turn into days and those days turn to weeks, then the weeks to months and the months give way to years. You can begin to feel dead with indifference and complacency.
You can easily forget the things that were once so very important to you.
For as long as I can remember loading up a searching for trails to ride and swimming holes to explore have always been one of our favorite things to do. In our early years when we were so young in the beginning of our marriage we would explore Cavanaugh Hill.
Or load up in our old Scout II and head to Lee Creek to swim and ride trails.
Our daughters spent the first half of their lives raised on a lake where we spent most of our time outside in the water, by the water or on the water. They became familiar with late night Yamaha Rhino rides.
The second half of their lives they have been here in Mulberry on our family farm that borders The Ozark National Forest where we have enjoyed our adventures through the woods.
Two years ago I purchased a parcel of land right on The Mulberry River located one mile North of Interstate 40.
It quickly became one of my favorite places on earth. I would find myself wondering and imagining what people would think of the wild life, the water falls and rapids. The sounds of the wind blowing through the river willows and the river flowing.
I decided I didn’t want to dream about how it could be. I wanted to build a place where memories could be made now and not later. I have come to realize that time is such precious gift that should never be wasted.
It was my hearts desire to create a place for people to come and camp, swim, float, trail ride, meet, chase waterfalls, make friends, build memories, strengthen families and adventure together.
It’s true that without new experiences something inside us sleeps, I encourage you to grab your spouse take them on an adventure. Reconnect, connect and connect again.
Load the kids up, journey with them, explore with them. Chase waterfalls, find heart shaped rocks, fossils, driftwood. Climb rocks, get muddy and count stars.
What are you waiting for? Get outside.
